Mr. William Earl “Stut” Lewis was born on April 12, 1947 to the late Mrs. Lucille Lewis and Mr. Harvey Lewis in Dixons Mills, Alabama.
Mr. Lewis was the 6th child of 11 children. He grew up in Dixons Mills and attended Marengo County School System. He was an auto mechanic who had a passion in paint and body work. Mr. Lewis dedicated his life providing for his family. He was a devoted husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He enjoyed fishing and spending quality time with his loved ones.
Mr. Lewis rededicated his life to CHRIST March 2017. He joined Little Friendship Primitive Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL.
Mr. Lewis departed this life on Monday, July 25, 2022. He was predeceased by his mother, Lucille Lewis; father, Harvey Lewis; Wife, JoAnn Mitchell Lewis; brother, L.V. Lewis; sisters, Lois Allen, Armaziel“Maye” Lewis Pritchett, Brenda “Dean” Quinn, Barbara Ree “Honey” Lewis; daughter, LaShaundaLewis; grandson, William Avery III; four sister-in-laws and four brother-in-laws.
William leaves to cherish his memories: two loving sons, William (Tawanda) Harris, Earnest Ray Walker ; both of Birmingham, AL; A loving daughter, Carol (William) Avery of Birmingham, AL; three lovingbrothers, Essie “Crook” Lewis of Bronx, NY, Lerenzo“Whip” Lewis and Michael “Nut” Lewis both of Dixons Mills, AL; two loving sisters, Fannie “Sallye” Bacote and Annie “Tot” Collins, both of Fayetteville, NC. A special cousin Cynthia Marshall Pryor. Also, he leaves a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
