Annie Gray (Jones) Dixon,87, a native of Nicholsville, AL and a longtime resident of Mobile, AL transitioned from this earthly home to her eternal resting place on December 1, 2021. She was born to the union of Andrew and Arlie Jones on May 31, 1934 in Marengo County in Sweetwater, Alabama. She was the youngest and last surviving of her 13 siblings. She received Christ at an early age and was a member of Warm Wood Missionary Baptist Church.
She was united in holy matrimony to Prumis Dixon on November 12, 1955. To this union, two children were born. Annie Gray retired from G&K Industries after 34 years of service. She was a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother above all else.
She had a quiet strength with which she guided her family. She wrapped them in love and faith in God. She was always there with words of wisdom and good council. She enjoyed plants, sewing and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, Prumis Dixon, ten brothers and three sisters: George Jones, Cleveland Jones, Monroe Jones, Earl Jones, Erby Jones, DeWill Jones, Roy Lee Jones, Chester Jones, I.V. Jones,T.Z. Jones, Zeola Dixon, Bertha Ann Fenderson and Willie Lee Finklea.
She leaves to cherish her beautiful memories her loving and devoted children: Son, Wallace (Amanda) Dixon of Irvington, AL and Daughter, Marilyn (Anthony) Obata of Fayetteville, GA; three grandsons; Kimdrick (Chandra) Dixon, Justin Dixon and Nicholas Obata; two great-grandsons; Ke’Lun Dixon and Jeremy York.
She also leaves to cherish her memories grandchildren and great-grandchildren In-Love to whom she was affectionately known as Granny-D. Greg (Glenda) West, Aquanda (Termichael) Sullivan, Joi (Derrick) Phalo, Jayden, Jayla, and Jaxon Woods, Jordan and Jaley Wells, and Greg West III. God-son, Tremaine Shoots.
A devoted cousin, Minnie Dixon of Mobile, AL; and devoted nephew, Milton Jones of Sweetwater, AL; two devoted nieces; Dorothy Hackworth of Thomasville, AL and Fannie Coates of Amityville, NY; four brothers- in-law, Percy Dixon of Nicholsville, AL, Murray Dixon of Sweetwater, AL; James(Lela) Dixon of Mount Vernon, AL and Oscar(Shirley) Dixon of Detroit, MI; two sisters-in-law. Christine Dickinson of Sweetwater, AL and Rosa Lee Dixon of NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and treasured friends.
