Today we celebrate the life of one of GOD’s most precious and irreplaceable gifts; those of us she touched during her 84 years on earth will miss Mother.

Mother exited her earthly body to join the LORD on October 10, 2018 at 5:30am. She lived her life preparing to be with the LORD for her eternal rest. Mother blessed her parents, the Late Aaron & Martha Harper Grayson on September 15, 1934 with her entrance into this world.

Mother began her Christian journey here at Rock Babylon Missionary Baptist Church as a young child; she served faithfully and diligently until she relocated to her permanent address, Heaven (GOD’s House). She wore many “Hats,” literally and figuratively; she sang in the church choir from childhood throughout her entire life also serving as secretary until she chose to turn the reins over to a much younger choir member; Youth Director-more than twenty years; Sunday School teacher- more than fifty years; Missionary Society President; Deaconess; And her Beloved and most Enjoyable Ministry-Director of the Church Kitchen for more than 30 years.Throughout her life, she touched the lives of so many people through her kind heart and beautiful smile. Mother continued the family tradition set by her Maternal Great Grandmother of adopting children, therefore amassing godchildren, god-grandchildren and god-great grandchildren too numerous to name.Throughout her life, she touched the lives of so many people through her kind heart and beautiful smile. Mother’s education began at Marengo High School and culminated at Alabama A&M University with a Master’s degree. Her love of teaching began at Linden Academy and then on to Coxheath Junior High School, Marengo High; her official 35 years of being an educator wrapped up at Sweet Water High School in 1994. We said official, because she was always doing some kind of teaching until she went to be with the LORD!

She was a proud “Delta Dear” of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, INC.

Anderson. In celebration of Mother’s life, she leaves to treasure her memories: her devoted Daughters: Angelia (Brandley), Felicia (Roger); Son-in-love Larry (Gaynell); Grandchildren: Cory, Titus (Andrea), Erica (Joseph), Antonio (Tyrrita), Rosalyn (Bret), Edward, Jamien, Larra, Bria and Ambreal; Eight Great Grandchildren; Brothers: Alvin (Lila) Grayson, George (Lucille) Grayson, Aaron Jr. (Lula) Grayson, Woodie (Shirley) Grayson, Willard Grayson, Richard (Inell) Grayson and Bettye Grayson Mason. Sisters-in-law: Wenderlyn Benjamin, Loretta Anderson, Juanita Grayson, Carolyn (Richard) Hawkins, Bessie Grayson, Johnnie Dunning and Emma (James) Nobles; Brothers-in-law: Alfred (Audrey)Mason, Alphonso McCoy and Joseph (Loretta) Lewis; Godsisters; Barbara J. Dunning, Mae Frances Harper Adams, Gracie Grayson Hollins, Ann Burroughs, Betty James, Emma Dunning Bettis, Vera B. Harris, Ella Stroud, Gladys Love McBride and Mattie Young Conerly and a multitude of Nieces, Nephews, Relatives and Friends…….
